We have to eat at least over 20 pounds of meat a day to sustain ourselves in this cold climate. How cold does it get? Well..about -50° F . |
Mammals had existed for tens of millions of years before the extinction of the dinosaurs, but they were mostly small, rodent or shrew-like herbivores and detrivores that scurried around at night, trying to avoid being eaten by the numerous, terrifying carnivorous dinosaurs everywhere. |
The Miacids that survived evolved into the carnivorans people know today, including the family dog or cat. They were among the first mammals to develop teeth for the shearing and tearing of meat, a feature retained by all modern carnivorans. These little guys lasted until about 33 million years ago, then the Ice Age began to set in. |
In fact, the Southern Chinese martial art Hung Ga is based on the movements of the Tiger and the Crane. and in Imperial China, a tiger was the personification of war and often represented the highest army general or present day defense secretary. |
Well, we're almost there..... |
Commander Zorro, Conte di Sylvestro, Welcome! |
You and your Time Travelling companions are well known to all of us endangered species. |
So protecting these and other prey animals from illegal hunting may be just as important to our survival as preventing the direct killing of us! |
So, if a captive bred Siberian tiger were to be released into the wild, it would lack the necessary hunting skills and starve to death. |
Look at it this way........ |
Captive bred tigers have learned to associate humans with feeding and they lack the natural shyness of the wild tigers. Since they don't have a fear of humans they could approach humans and villages looking for food. And what would the humans do? Well, you can imagine........need I say more? |
I'm going to have a lay down....speak with you later.... |
How many humans does it take to drag the prey of one Tiger? |
Time Adventurers, I think this is going to be a long game and an even longer adventure..... |
You better go find the rest of the crew , I just know, they're on some wild adventures ! |
Commander Zorro......through the looking glass... signing off for now....I'm coming girls' |
Well for your information........ |
Depletion of our prey base, in other words food we eat! |
65-90% of our diet is primarily made up of red deer and wild boar |
Tigers are taught how to hunt by their mothers when they are still cubs. |
