UPW BUTTERBYE'S ANCIENT SOLAR OBSERVATORY MAGIC TIME PORTAL |
These regularly spaced towers line up along a hill, separated by about 5 meters (16 feet). |
The thirteen towers vary in size from 2 to 6 meters but are regularly spaced between 4.7 to 5.1 meters apart on the hill top. |
Tracking the sun's progress would have helped Chankillo's builders time the planting of their crops. But the towers were probably also meant to express rulers' mystical kinship with the sun, and their ability to influence its movement. If they were just for measuring seasons, there would be no need to make such great structures. The researchers guess that the idea was to transmit a political and ideological message about a ruler's close relationship with the sun |
In 2006, archaeologist Robert Benfer of the University of Missouri announced the discovery of a 4200 year old observatory at Buena Vista. Named the "Temple of the Fox" by archaeologists, the observatory is located atop a small pyramid. |
Is this not a lesson all modern earthlings should learn also? |
Until next time.....UPW Butterbye winging off! |
